Mind The Business

Nothing frees one from the remnants of idealism better than when a journalist is “bone sawed” alive to pieces in a Saudi Consulate and the US president as a well as a number of elected representatives remind themselves and us that they will not endanger the USD 110 billion mega arms deal with Saudi Arabia as this will hurt America’s economy.

We Stand with Europe in Support of the Iran Deal

In times of crisis, it is important to not get muddled.

The current US administration wants Iran to also renege on the Iran Deal; this way they will not have to go in confrontation with the EU.

The extremists in Iran want out of the Iran Deal, so that they can continue with their creeping coup, embezzlements and possibly even drag the country into war.

The Iran Deal however is both an important agreement for International peace and development as also in the  interest of Iran’s civil society.

Extremists within and without Iran oppose the Iran Deal. Let’s stand up to extremism by speaking for and acting on behalf of the Iran Deal.

United Europe plans to bypass Trump sanctions on Iran

Brüssel will europäischen Unternehmen per Gesetz verbieten, die neuen Iran-Sanktionen der USA umzusetzen. Damit droht eine Eskalation des Konflikts mit Washington.

The EU has put itself on a collision course with the US over Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the nuclear deal with Iran, as major European firms started to pull out of the country to avoid being hit by sanctions.

In an attempt to shield EU companies doing business with Iran, the European commission president, Jean-Claude Juncker, said he would turn to a plan last used to protect businesses working in Cuba before a US trade embargo was lifted on the Latin American country.

“We will begin the ‘blocking statute’ process, which aims to neutralise the extraterritorial effects of US sanctions in the EU. We must do it and we will do it tomorrow [Friday] morning at 10.30,” he said at the end of a summit in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia.

The EU is to begin reviving legislation that will allow European companies to continue doing business with Iran, despite US sanctions.

The so-called “blocking statute” was introduced in 1996 to circumvent US sanctions on Cuba but was never used.

The EU will begin redrafting and preparing the legislation so it applies to the latest Iran sanctions.

Jean Claude Juncker, president of the European Commission, said on Thursday the commission has a “duty to protect European companies” from American sanctions.

“We now need to act, and this is why we are launching the process to activate the ‘blocking statute’ from 1996.

Trump on Iran: Looking for Excuses

As the recent welcome received by the US wrestling team in Iran has again made obvious, Iranian people have much respect for and sympathy with US Americans. We hope that 45, his administration and Iranian lobbyists will not squander away all this by showing them the darkest and profit above all else seeking side of America.
